A Wish to Help a Loved One

Colantotte was inspired by a simple but meaningful wish: to help a loved one experience greater comfort and bring happiness to everyday life.

In 1998, Mr. Katsumi Komatsu, president of Colan Totte, sought a way to ease the back muscle discomfort experienced by his bedridden father. Motivated by his knowledge of magnets, he explored how magnetic arrangements could be improved to develop a product for the waist, shoulders, and back.

Innovation Through Experimentation

Believing that conventional magnet arrangements had limitations, he experimented with an alternating south-north pole configuration. His work led to a magnetic arrangement designed to create a broader magnetic field.

A Smile That Started It All

When his father smiled after trying the creation, that moment gave him the confidence to pursue mass production. Despite the challenges of bringing the product to market, Colantotte gradually expanded its product range and earned the support of customers who shared its vision.
